“It’s not delivery, it’s DiGiorno!” That’s what a Little Caesars pizza chain should say after a viral tweet by the user @vinandwesson shows DiGiorno self-rising crust in Little Caesars.
The video posted on Saturday shows a woman with a cart full of DiGiorno pizza, leaving people online questioning whether Little Caesars in fact makes its own pizza.
Of course once this tweet (below) went viral, people made jokes about the situation. One Twitter user @BCLA09 had one of the funniest responses.
People on Twitter were not the only ones making fun of this situation, DiGiorno took the time to join in on the fun. Christy Teigen, model and cookbook author said “The only Little Caesars I wanna go to” and jokingly (but also seriously) DiGiorno replied “Same.”
According to Today Food, DiGiorno is not quite sure what is going on but is excited about the attention this has brought to social media and the responses on Twitter.
After Little Caesars investigated they found that this chain in question is located in Indiana inside of a K-Mart. A representative at Little Caesars told People, “no DiGiorno pizzas were baked or served at this Little Caesars location,” they said. “On that day, K-Mart received a few complaints from customers about having purchased expired DiGiorno pizzas from that location, and because it was so close to closing time, the K-Mart manager directed his employee to temporarily store them in a cooler adjacent to the Little Caesars location for disposal in the morning.”
It’s possible that is true because @littlecaesars said that this store has a trade-in program. This statement was probably said in jest.
It’s safe to say that both Little Caesars and DiGiorno are going to be just fine after this viral tweet.
